Graham Howe's 1931 A Ford Roadster

 

 

This Roadster was originally built by Sydney rodder Ross Roberts during the late 60s and
early 70s and was finished in 1973. After driving the car for a while it was sold and went
through various owners including Ray Ellis from the south coast area and ending up in
Canberra under the ownership of Mark Saunders who after a little while sold it to Graham
Howe who has now owned it for about 3 years and is improving the car at this time.

283 cu in Chevy V8  with 6 Stromberg 97's on Offenhauser manifold

Transmission:

1937 Cadillac 3 speed Manual

Differential:

4.11 ratio  1948 Ford

Front Suspension:

1934 Ford I beam with transverse leaf spring, hairpin radius rods

Steering:

Morris Minor Rack & Pinion

Rear Suspension:

Transverse Leaf spring

Body:

1931 Model A Ford roadster channeled

Chassis:

1934 Ford shortened 6"and  stepped down 6"

Brakes:

1948 Ford Mercury drums front & rear

Wheels:

Cragar 5 spoke S/S Mag wheels

Other Modifications:

Night Mist light blue paint, pleated black upholstery. 1962 Morris wipers, Cragar steering wheel
