History

John Cross's 1928 Ford Roadster

 

 

The car was bought in Ballarat Victoria in March 1993 and was virtually as is except for:
1)  Some mechanical modifications.
2) The whole car was panel beated & painted  (1 & 2 took about 18 Months).
3)  The Hood irons, bows & rag top were made from scratch ( Took about another 18 Months)- Mainly time preparing the body for the rag top.
4) Have still got the car.

289 cu in Windsor (compact Fairlane)

Transmission:

C4 Auto   (67-71 Ford Falcon)

Differential:

XR-XY Ford Facon V8

Front Suspension:

Dropped Super Bell Tube Axle with Parrallel 4 Bar Rod type Shocks

Steering:

Cross Steering using Datsun 200B  LC Torana Column

Rear Suspension:

1938 Ford Split radius rods with Transverse spring reset

Body:

1928 Ford Roadster

Chassis:

1928 Ford boxed

Brakes:

XB Falcon Discs front. XB Falcon M/Cyl & Booster  XB Facon. Pedal assy XB Falcon Drums Rear

Wheels:

Front steel 15" x 5" Rear steel 15" x 7"

Other Modifications:
